2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley

Black current and cassis, giving way to a bouquet of violets.

Grapes sourced from the Peter Newton Vineyard on Spring Mountain and the Wente Vineyard in Soda Canyon—two notable sites farmed and managed by Maldonado Vineyards.

Tasting Notes

Rich and lush, with a pleasant smoothness; layers of dark chocolate, black cherry, and currant, enhanced by a rich barrel spice; silky tannins evolving into a flourish of vanilla with a lovely rocky minerality.

Winemaker's Notes

Clusters de-stemmed and berries moved through a double-sorting system, removing jacks and leaving only individual, whole berries that are barrel fermented in French oak barrels.
